Tax Credit for First Time Home Buyers Extended and Current Home Owners Added

tax-creditLooks like there was an agreement by the Senate to extend the First Time home buyers credit out until the end of April and giving another 60 days to close the deal and current homeowners would get the credit as well.  In addition, repeat buyers now have a tax credit of $6500 to purchase a home and the income limits have been increased as well…here is a link from Marketwatch spelling out things in short order..

  1. This is really great to see. A lot of people have been sitting on the edge of their seats wondering if this was going to happen. The real estate industry needs to maintain the bit of momentum it has built up.

  2. Taking away first time buyer incentives would be such a shame given the current market being so fragile. We need to give people reasons to get into the market not run the other way. I have a blog specifically for Calgary first time home buyers
