Little Harbor Rezoning Approved in Ruskin Florida

Little Harbor, otherwise known as Bahia Beach located in Ruskin Florida, was approved to convert 158 units to Hotel units.  This would allow rental of those units as daily as opposed to weekly as they are currently approved for (although Little Harbor had been renting them nightly regardless).  This opens up discussions for a major Hotel Chain to take over management of the development as Earthmark has indicated before that they are not in the business of running a resort.

Opponents of the rezoning, mostly residents from the Bahia Del Sol development, continued to express extreme opossition but in the end, the rezoning ended up passing with a 4-3 vote to approve.

It will be interesting to see what the next step will be for Earthmark, lets see if they hold true on their promises to not turn the property into a “One Night Stay” hotel and keep it a resort type environment…only time will tell.

In the event you do not know what Little Harbor is, here is an excerpt from their site:

“On the shores of Tampa Bay, at the edge of a tropical fantasy, is a seaside village, unlike any other. Discover fabulous resort amenities, luxurious waterfront residences, water-inspired clubs, and marinas with direct deepwater access to the bay and Gulf of Mexico beyond. Our one-of-a-kind community is conveniently located just 30-minutes from three major metropolitan areas: Tampa, St. Petersburg and Sarasota.

Waterfront condominiums, townhomes and luxury single family homes from the $300’s to over $3 million. It’s the Florida lifestyle you’ve always dreamed of, at some of the region’s best waterfront prices.”
